Deborah McDonald
Director, Adult & Teen Challenge Rhode Island

When Deborah listened to her friend Jacqui Strothoff’s long awaited vision for a women’s home, the beauty of God’s plan for her life began to unfold. Together, they found a house on Elmwood Avenue that would eventually become the first Adult & Teen Challenge New England and New Jersey Women’s Home.

Since the doors of the Adult & Teen Challenge Women’s Home opened in 1994, Deb’s heart has been for the women of this ministry. Throughout her 28 years of service, she has had the privilege of witnessing the miraculous power of God to transform lives from addiction to freedom.

It has been her tremendous honor and blessing to serve here where she is constantly reminded of the Lord’s faithfulness as He uses her to nurture broken women, God ministers to her own heart.

Deb’s husband Joe, the love of her life for 50 years, recently went to be with the Lord, joining their beloved oldest son, JoJo. Deborah’s two adult sons, Tony and Mikey, strongly support the work she does, while she lives in North Providence with her faithful dog, Gloobie.
